A Lump & A Bump

As much as I would like to wax philosophical about changing the image of cancer or about the ongoing struggle to accept a physical disfigurement, I am really short on time these days!  This picture is from February, so I gotta play blog catch up!

a lump and a bump is a Facebook page, and I highly recommend you check it out. She was my picture inspiration! (well, I straight up plagiarized it) Stephanie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative breast cancer at age 30 while pregnant.  She blogged about her journey on her Facebook page and continues to raise awareness (the real kind, not the shallow pink ribbon kind) and knowledge about breast cancer.

  1. Katie - you look amazing in that picture!!! You are purely glowing.. I hate that you and I are members of that 1 in 8 club.... but hopefully through us it can help women moving forward do self breast exams, get mammograms, and be aware of their body... Look at both of us... we are SURVIVORS!!! and you are a Mommy to two amazingly beautiful babies... ROCK ON KATIE BEE!!!

  2. You do look very happy and beautiful, Katie. This also makes me think I should not disregard the chance of getting cancer, or many other illnesses we often think of as something we might be too young to get, and be better aware. We shouldn't be getting mammograms yet, if our mom's and grandma's never had breast cancer? ..or should we?
